obit-sister-antonette.jpgSister M. Antonette Feldhake, OP, 81, of Springfield, died Nov. 5 at the Dominican Motherhouse, Springfield.
Sister Antonette was born in Centralia to Fred and Minnie (Theis) Feldhake. She joined the Dominican Sisters in 1951.
During her career as an educator and administrator, Sister Antonette served at Our Lady of Grace in Chicago and Marian High School in Chicago Heights; Sacred Heart Academy, Little Flower and Christ the King in Springfield; St. Mary in Litchfield; and St. Thomas Aquinas in Hammond, La. She also served as administrative secretary to the prioress general and served in pastoral ministry at St. Mary of the Assumption in Sainte Marie.
Sister Antonette was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Marie and Edna. She is survived by her sister Ruth; three nieces; two nephews and her Dominican sisters with whom she lived and ministered for 57 years.
The funeral Mass was held Nov. 6 at Sacred Heart Convent with Father Peter Witchousky, OP, presiding. Burial was Nov. 7, at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield.
Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
