Sister Mary Ann was born in Effingham on Feb. 16, 1922, the daughter of Clem and Josephine Feldhake Vogt. She entered the congregation on Sept. 8, 1941, and professed her religious vows on June 13, 1944.

Sister Mary Ann served the community as a cook in hospitals in Illinois and Wisconsin. She also served as cook at St. Isabel's Mission in Lukachukai, Ariz., from 1962–1975 and at the Franciscan Apostolic Center from 1982–1991. She served at the information desk at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham, from 1991 until she returned to St. Francis Convent in 2000.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Vogt.

She is survived by three brothers: Bernard Vogt, Clem Vogt, and Paul Vogt; and three sisters: Catherine Westendorf, Ann Ruhold, and Stella Westendorf; many nieces and nephews; and her Franciscan sisters with whom she shared her life for over 70 years.

The Eucharistic Celebration and Rite of Christian Burial was celebrated by Father John Sullivan, OFM, on Jan. 24 in St. Clare of Assisi Adoration Chapel at St. Francis Convent. Burial was in Crucifixion Hill Cemetery.
