Sister M. Claudia was a dedicated educator in Catholic parish schools and religious education programs. In the Springfield diocese, she taught at St. Patrick, Springfield, and Our Saviour, Jacksonville. She also taught at parishes in Cary, Chicago, Matteson and LaSalle in Illinois; in Duluth, Minn.; and in Brawley, Calif. For several of these parishes, she was also the religious education coordinator.

From 1998-2010, Sister M. Claudia provided internal community support services at Sacred Heart Convent; her last assignment was the ministry of prayer.

Sister M. Claudia was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Marguerite; her brothers, George, Charles, and Eugene; her sisters, Ethel Weeks, Margaret Zabawa, Helen Sullins; and foster sister, Helen Hermes. She is survived by her brother, John of Taylor, Mich., and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mass was held June 23 at Sacred Heart Convent, with Father Clint Honkomp, OP, presiding. Burial was June 24 in Calvary Cemetery, Springfield.
